Workshops, Seminars and Talks

An experienced mentor and educator, Frank Millward presents workshops and lectures specifically designed for client needs. These have included topics in areas such as: Sonic Branding; Visual Music; Music Theory; Sound Design and the Moving Image; Creative Process; Time, Tempo and Groove as well as those listed in ‘Working Areas’ above. These workshops and lectures have resonance in corporate, business and interdisciplinary fields where creative practices can be used for team building and the development of innovative collaborative working environments.

Sonic branding

Frank has a deep understanding and experience in how sound is able to create meaning. Through his research he has consistently explored and evolved ideas in sonic branding in its many manifestations. He has produced a number of consultation papers, workshops and background support for presentations that explore the areas of Visual Music and Sonic Vision in the context of branding, exploring the idea ‘see what you hear and hear what you see’.

 Course design

Frank has been instrumental in designing innovative courses that bridge the traditions of the sonic and visual arts. Through the use of technology, he has succeeded in devising new pedagogies, uniting creative processes between the visual and the sonic into innovative cross-disciplinary practices. In a number of universities and private educational providers in the UK and Australia, participants always responded positively, pointing out how these courses greatly improved their capacity to plan and realize fresh outcomes in the making of their work.
